Thumbs up NOt sure what bittorrent client to use check here.

A BitTorrent Client is a program that will manage all of your downloading and uploading you do using torrents.

There are many clients out there, each offering different pros and cons. Only use one client at a time, as using more than one won't make your speeds better or anything.

Here is a list of recommended clients you can use:Here are some more clients:For a large list with comparisons of features between clients, click here.

Utorrent is my favorite torrent client due primarily to it's very small foot print. It works great as a download or upload client(seeder). But there are many others, which are just as good. The only one I would not really recommend is azareus because it uses to much resources.

hmm....interesting will check it out.

with Azu running on the machine, it would be the only task that can be left running.
quite a feature rich client though.
the machine would totally suck at browsing or surfing or anything else.

BitComet is my favourite

I had Azureus before, but as stated in other posts, it takes "all" my RAMs

I used to use BitComet, I've tried Azureus but I prefer utorrent, I would reccommend utorrent of all the clients I have used

Do any of these work on Linux?

I just installed Ubuntu Linux on my download box and right now I have Amule running on it, the Linux version of Emule.

I would like to install a Bit Torrent client on this machine. Which would you recommend?

emule is a small network i think.
i checked out bitcomet, but only windows vers available.

sourceforge.net looks promising though.
i found a whole bunch of results: http://sourceforge.net/search/?words...&Search=Search

the only client i'd stay away from is the orig bittorrent client...

Its strange that a popular program like BitComet is not avaliable for more platforms, like Linux....:/

ok, I am officiall sick of Azureus. Yes, it is a great program and has many features, but why does it bog down my system so bad? Remember, I am using Linux, so I don't have windows or any large windows programs running. This box is ONLY for downloads, so Azureus is the only thing running. The box is a AMD 1.1GHz Athlon with 256MB of RAM. I know that I need more RAM, but Amule runs fine on this same setup with no problems at all. And I can let it run for weeks on end with no issues. I have to reboot the box every day with Azureus.

So which client would someone else recommend for a Linux OS?
