Default Going on 5 months

I have been downloading a file for about 4 and a half months and it's only at about 67%, any advice on how to speed it up? Or is that normal for a large file?

I thought that the purpose of Bit Torrent was to avoid situations like that. I have had files on Emule that took that long, but never torrent. Of course, I don't really use Torrent that much, that is why I joined this forum so that I could learn more about it.

check the number of seeders and peers.
is there enough to construct 100% of the file?

if not, you may want to drop it.
anyone that cant complete in a week is something you might want to drop.

Lightbulb Downloading

If there are seeders and leeches happening but only the leechers get picked up. How is that a torrent can have 75 seeders but none seem to come into the transfer?

I guess I'll wait for a reply but it is so frustating to have a torrent stall at 88.6% with somany active seeders

I have heard of files being uploaded that have the sole purpose of scanning everyone that attempts to download it... by for instance the RiAA, Brein, or the likes.. Now i don't know what to believe of that.... could be true, or the well know hoax.. but If i encounter a torrent like what you describe, i usually drop it...

Smile I agree

I agree, I would drop it. It might not be one of the scanner torrents Relic mentioned, but it could just be a fake. What are you trying to get? If you post I'll see what I can find and I'm sure others here will probably beat me to finding it.....
