Thanks for the link friend,
I think Islam is a fascinating religion which warrants attention and understanding particularly in todays political and cultural climate.

I think the Sufis are a world apart and Rumi was a genius.

May the Dervishes Whirl and acceptance eventually reign, amidst the zealotry, bigotry and ignorance, on all sides.

Sorry m8.. i do not agree. No religion is worth any attention what so ever.

And i investigated a lot of them... They have one thing in common.. they are designed not to liberate, but to limit..

Religion is made by man to control man. Now it's all the goodies we can buy to distract us.

I agree.
But..
Some people need a scaffold to understand their existence.
Others do not.
If I try to rip away their scaffold I succeed in nothing but isolating myself further from them, increasing the strength of their defences and relinquishing the chance to understand another perspective of humanity, regardless of whether it is flawed or not.

All in all, they are all just bricks in the wall.

Btw Stolen, I agree with you that religion is the thing we spend most of our time doing. A fantastical image overlaying the essential belief in something good is for me superior to self-possessed and unwavering certainty in something rotten.
Yes I know that 'religion' is not something good per se, however, faith has the potential to be which is why I do not and can not take the easier path of denial and avoidance of the entire road, merely to not step in the dog shit.

Many years ago I joined A.A. Raised a strict Lutheran I was able to learn the difference between Religion and Faith..Being able to seperate the two it took a great burdon off my shoulders..my 2 cent worth here is today i have much faith in a power higher than myself...and religion can go in the garbage can..
