I dont hate windowz, but with xp u get a lot of settings u need to pull back or put on manual.
Like remote registry?
Xp is set up like a server, u can go to 'control panel', click on Administrative tools and then services; there u can see/modify every service that's in your pc and now and again I run into a brick wall .
There's a nifty tool 4 that (also a regcleaner) http://www.sofotex.com/RegScrubXP-download_L7528.html that allows u to modify things easy and got a help file/links on how to do almoste anything.

I have never really used MAC so I can't really make a fair judgement. I have Vista myself and I don't really see what the problem with it is..?
