Are your downloads always slow? Don't connect to many peers/seeds? Have a router? You need to forward your ports!
What is Port Forwarding? There are a couple of concepts you need to know before you can understand port forwarding:How to forward your ports
If you have Windows Firewall (in Windows XP Service Pack 2) turned on you will also need to allow the ports. If you have a different firewall go to the program's website for more instructions. |

Static IPs Are set to the network card. so set one to a static IP i.e. 192.168.1.2 and leave the other to Auto DNS. all you have to do then is when at home connect to the network with the network card with the static IP. When out and about use the other network card

At the risk of sounding like a total dumbass, I have to ask, Do I need to forward my port if I dont have a router? Also, how the hell do I know if I have a router or not? As far as I know I dont, but as I am willing to share with you guys, I dont know nuffin! I am so bummed about this unconnectable status, I am seeding my downloads and they are being shared, I promise
I even considering buying that program that auto forwards your port but the very first thing it wants to know is what router I have. PS now I have a headache. Any advice in simpleton terms would be deeply appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Boy did I ever agree with that post: more than MANY! As a Mac OS X G4 Powerbook user, I find that there are a lot of apps/programs that ignore the need for .zip/.dmg/.sit files for Macintosh users. I feel your pain and agree wholeheatedly....Help Plzzzz![]() |

OK, I was just told by my internet provider that because I am on dial up I do not have a router so that settles it in my mind , I just dont have one, if I dont have one why aren't my ports open and how do I open them without being bombarded by questions about my router which I just dont have. This is very frustrating and I realy wish there was some kinda wizard included with torrent clients to help.

Ive seen a few situations like this one in my time..the Microsoft MN-700 which is better known as the Microsoft MN-700 Wireless 802.11g 4 Port Router has a built in mini DAT firewall..combine that with Nortons firewall and you have yourself a nice conflict at hand..Read the manual on your port router to understand further...
